Why silage bagging is attractive to many farms

A steady filling process with as few interruptions as possible supports a uniform bag shape. The operator monitors brake pressure, film stretch and machine operation in accordance with the applicable operating instructions. After filling, the ends are properly sealed gas-tight and secured to minimise exposure to water, animals and mechanical loads.
Inspection and feed-out are part of the process
Each bag must be inspected regularly for punctures, abrasion, seam damage or damage caused by animals. Any damage is promptly sealed with suitable repair material. During feed-out, the exposed face and working area are kept clean; the daily feed-out rate is adapted to the material, temperature and farm routine. Safety distances and the instructions for the machine and film must be observed.
